Our people

Community Lifestyles is made up of a dedicated staff team of around 400 employees, ranging from Support Workers and Team Leaders to the Support and Development, and Staff Development teams based in our Kerr Street premises. A small team of very experienced managers oversee our day-to-day activities, ensuring things run smoothly:

Robert Darroch (Consortium Manager)
Robert is a qualified Social Worker who has worked in social care for over 30 years, mainly in the voluntary sector but also in hospital resettlement and with the Care Inspectorate.

Gail McKinnon (Area Manager)
Gail joined Key and Community Lifestyles in 2023, she has many years' experience working in social care.

Gary Murphy (Area Manager)
Gary has worked for Key and Community Lifestyles for 22 years. He has worked in social care for over 28 years and has 22 years' experience of managing social care services.

Tommy Paterson (Area Manager)
Tommy has worked for Community Lifestyles for many years and has a lot of experience of managing supports for a wide range of people.

 

Board of Directors
Our Board brings together a wealth of experience from a range of backgrounds and professions to help guide the organisation in everything we do:

David Meechan (Chair)
David is an auditor with Audit Scotland.

Angus Turner (Secretary)
Angus is a retired minister of the Church of Scotland and founding Director of Community Lifestyles.

Susan Hunter
Susan is a lecturer and researcher in Social Work at Edinburgh University, with a longstanding interest in services for people with learning disabilities. She is a founding Director of Community Lifestyles.

Ann McGuigan
Ann is now retired, having previously been Head of Quality and Contracts at The Richmond Fellowship Scotland.

Liz Matheson
Liz is a recently retired Clinical Psychologist who latterly worked for Greater Glasgow and Clyde Learning Disability Services.

Joanna Pearson
Joanna is a human resources specialist with a background in the private and education sectors.

Mary Parker
Mary has a wealth of experience in Human Resources and currently provides coaching and mentoring services through her own consultancy.

Christine McKinlay
Christine is a member of National TAG.

James Cox
James is a member of National TAG.

We also receive support with functions such as Human Resources and Finance from our partner organisation Key.
