All employers have a legal duty to take ‘reasonable steps’ to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace, in line with new legislation that was introduced in autumn 2024, specifically the Workers Protection Act (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023.
At Key and Community Lifestyles, we are proud of our supportive and person-centred culture, and we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone.
This statement covers everyone who works for us, uses our services, or provides services to our organisation. It makes clear that sexual harassment will not be tolerated by the organisation and encourages colleagues to report any incidents of sexual harassment they experience or witness, even if this is a situation where nothing happened but they felt at risk or uncomfortable.
All our colleagues are aware of the role they must play in preventing sexual harassment and promoting respectful and professional behaviour at all times, within and out with work. We have a clear reporting procedure in place, through our Dignity at Work Policy and/or Grievance Policy, and support is available to colleagues if they experience or witness sexual harassment. Any report will be taken seriously, and our leadership team is fully committed to acting upon and investigating every report, as well as learning from any incidents and continuously improving how we prevent harassment from taking place.
