Ending Your Tenancy
If you wish to end your tenancy you must give us 28 days notice in writing.
End of Tenancy Inspection
Once we have received your written notice, your Housing Officer will arrange to carry out an end of tenancy inspection. This is a full house inspection to check that it is in a good state of repair and decoration. We will do this before your tenancy ends.
Transfer of Tenancy
You can sign over your tenancy to anyone who has lived with you and has used the property as their main home for the past 12 months or more. You will need written permission from us and we will only refuse permission if we have a good reason for doing so.
Succession
When a tenant dies the tenancy can be passed on to a number of people including:
- Husband/Wife/Joint Tenant/Partner
- Family member
- In-House Carer.
A proof of residence will be required before succession is considered. For more details about succession read your Tenant Handbook.
If you have any questions about the information above you can speak to your Housing Officer on 0141 342 1810.
